Manic Depression or Bipolar Disorder

I came across an interesting article in the Mirror online yesterday and have been pondering whether to post about it or not. You can read it below. It is about Stephen Fry and some other well known names from showbiz who suffer from a condition called Bipolar Disorder (newer term) more well known as Manic Depression. The late Sir Spike Milligan suffered from it too.

Some people know I suffer from the same condition and I did once or twice post it publicly in response to people criticising me for swapping parties in 2005. I wasn't blaming my illness entirely for bad judgements because I was not ill enough to be hospitalised at that time, but I was ill enough to miss 3 consecutive appointments my Psychiatrist at that time. So, one purpose of this entry on my blog is to be a written account, without going into detail, that I can post in response to any further criticisms online. The other purpose is to inform people about the television programme which the Mirror story is based upon. Please don't miss it, people need to know about an illness that is hard to talk about and Stephen Fry has already accomplished one of his aims with this blog entry.
